It’s easy to go vegan!

Vegan food is on trend right now, whether for health, ecological or ethical reasons. The Swiss premium sports nutrition specialist WINFORCE has always based its carbohydrates and fats on vegan raw materials. In terms of the protein, vegetable-based "solutions" have long offered a compromise between biological quality, digestibility and flavour. With its high quality and easily digestible new Vegan Protein, WINFORCE has developed a vegetable-based protein which leaves no wish unfulfilled in this regard!

Not just for vegans

High-performance sport and veganism might seem to be incompatible. But the number of athletes seeking a non animal-based alternative alongside the tried-and-tested lactose-free whey proteins is increasing, especially for those who find whey hard to digest. The new Vegan Protein based on lupin and sunflower proteins fulfils this requirement. Thanks to the use of the vegetable-based amino acids L-glutamine, L-threonine and in particular L-leucine and L-lysine, the gluten and soya-free low-carb mix has a protein content of 66%. While the neutral variety is suitable for increasing the protein content of shakes, smoothies, soups and other liquids in particular, the decaffeinated mocha version can also be consumed with water or mixed with a vegetable-based dairy product.

As natural as possible through nature

Vegetarian athletes with a higher protein requirement are certainly familiar with the problem: depending on the country/destination in question, sourcing protein can sometimes be more difficult than finding the perfect wave. Céline Gehret, a four-times Swiss champion and multiple participant in the ISA World Surfing Games with the Swiss team, uses the shakes from her homeland when she is abroad too. “The Vegan Protein is the ideal addition to my daily protein intake and helps to ensure that I don’t experience any loss of muscle, even when I have to spend hours in the water for training sessions or shoots and can’t eat properly,” says the ambitious surfing professional who has followed a vegetarian diet for ethical reasons over the last 25 years.

Two Jolandas on the road to Tokyo

WINFORCE’s team of athletes will be gaining some prominent new support in the new year. In addition to mountain biking world champion Jolanda Neff, who has been competing with her famous silver drinking bottle since 2015, another Jolanda has now also placed her trust in the Swiss premium brand: Jolanda Annen, the three-times Olympic Triathlon World Cup champion, European Championships silver medallist in the sprint and Swiss female triathlete of the year for 2017. The 25 year old from Uri contested her first triathlon at the age of 17 and last year ranked among the world’s top ten. She hopes to win at least a diploma in Tokyo (she was only 14 in Rio). And the sport soldier is in good company: WINFORCE is currently looking after over 30 European champions, world champions and Olympic medal winners – and Pyeongchang is still to come!
